Rose diary - 1 September 2002

The first shot is of part of my back yard rose bed. I've mulched this year, using a thick layer of lucerne (alfalfa) hay. The newly planted roses you see here have been fed with Seasol, fish emulsion and Aquasol in addition to the nutrients they've been getting from the hay.

It's early days yet, but here's a taste of what's to come when blooming season begins for real... later this month!

The above is Voodoo, a bush I planted bare rooted only 2 months before taking this shot (1 September 2002). And below is White Lightnin', planted at the same time and already living up to its name!
